Opportunities with the World's Largest Zinc Mine (U/G Geotechnical Engineer)

with Hindustan Zinc (HZL) to assist with a major
operational ramp up of their Rampura Agucha mine in Rajasthan,
India.

Rampura Agucha mine is the world's largest zinc
mine. It has an ore production capacity of 6.15 million MT
per annum, with best-in-class zinc-lead reserves grade of 15.4%. It
produced 743,000 MT of mined metal during the year including
677,000 MT of contained zinc and 66,000 MT of contained lead.
Reserves and resources of Rampura Agucha Mine as on 31st March 2013
are 109.8 million MT.
Rampura Agucha is currently operating through the open-cast
route and have recently developed the new underground mine.
Underground mining is planned beyond the ultimate open pit depth of
372 m from the surface, and the initial ore extraction will be from
declines. As a part of their expansion programme, they will bolster
the underground mine to an ore production capacity of 3.75 million
MT per annum, which will involve sinking of a 950 meter hoisting
shaft.
Rampura Agucha is stratiform, sediment-hosted, high
grade zinc & lead deposits. The ore body is massive
and lens shaped. Ore grade (averaging >14%) is consistent and is
not deteriorating as you move down. The mine is equipped with the
world-class infrastructural facilities including the latest
generation slope monitoring radar system; truck dispatch system;
simulators to enhance the operator's skill.

Role specifics, including position description can be obtained
on request - suffice to say this role will be a fantastic
challenge! There are significant geological complexities, wedge
failures, slickensides, a highly messed up graphite mica schist
shear zone. You'll report to the Geotechnical Head who in turn
reports up to another Geotech = great mentors!

Rampura Agucha is located 230 kms north of Udaipur, in the State
of Rajasthan in India. Successful candidates will have the choice
of living in country or accept a negotiable 8/3 weeks FIFO roster
(negotiable) back to point of hire with negotiable USD on
offer.
